World Ski and Snowboard Festival (WSSF) 2025
Epic Adventures, Thrilling Competitions, and Unforgettable Moments at WSSF 2025
Your Ultimate Guide to the World Ski and Snowboard Festival
The World Ski and Snowboard Festival (WSSF) has been a Whistler tradition since 1996, drawing in skiers, snowboarders, and mountain culture enthusiasts from across the globe to celebrate through a mix of thrilling events, live music, and multimedia experiences.
This year’s festival promises to deliver another unforgettable experience with an action-packed lineup. Starting with the kickoff at The Longhorn Saloon on April 6th, the festival builds up to the highly anticipated Slush Cup on April 13th, and wraps up with the Glow Joe’s party at Moe Joe’s on the same night.
Some crowd favourites include the 72 Hour Filmmaker Showdown, where filmmakers are given a brief and just 72 hours to plan, shoot, and edit their short films. The top films are showcased on Monday, April 7th at the Whistler Conference Centre, with a panel selecting the winners. Don’t miss last year’s incredible finalists here: YouTube Playlist. You won’t be disappointed!

Another beloved event is the Slush Cup, an annual spectacle that’s always full of fun and laughter. Open to all, participants ski or board down a steep run and attempt to cross a long ice-water bath. Will they make it across, or end up taking a swim? It’s one of the festival’s funniest moments, and this year’s event will be held on Whistler Mountain, marking the mountain’s last day of the season.

Throughout Thursday to Sunday, the Village comes alive with live music, with Skier’s Plaza serving as the stage for exciting performances.

This year, WSSF is introducing The Grind, an electrifying street-style ski and snowboard competition. Watch as the world’s best riders perform jaw-dropping tricks in a high-energy showdown at the base of Whistler Mountain from April 10th to 12th. Competitors of all genders will vie for a share of a $50,000 prize pool. Check out the progress of the event so far by heading to their Instagram, and stay updated on all the latest action and behind-the-scenes moments!
